Klarna brings profitability into focus amid redundancies

Klarna is set to focus more on “short-term profitability” than growth, reports the Financial Times. 

In Brief: 

The news comes as Klarna announced it will cut 10% of its workforce. 

CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski says he is unconvinced that the FinTech will need to raise capital at a lower valuation. 

He said Klarna, which has previously put its investment into long term growth, will focus on short-term profitability instead.
