Wirex is Visa principal member

Payments FinTech Wirex has become a principal member of Visa.

In Brief:

  • Principal membership means Wirex can issue Visa cards, apply for licences and build new products more easily.

  • It has previously been part of the payments giant’s FinTech Fast Track Programme.

  • Wirex currently offers its multi-currency, zero exchange fee to over three million customers.

What does this mean?

The FinTech says it has ambitious growth plans for the coming year and Visa’s support will be instrumental in making this happen. It currently serves clients across the EEA and APAC regions and offers not only multiple fiat currency options, but cryptocurrency as well, which is a growing area of interest for the business.
